Stop running random acts of marketing.
Ads, posts, SEO, a new tool every quarter, and growth still stalls. The Tripod Method™ is the framework we use to turn scattered tactics into one stable growth system: three legs, one team, a scoreboard you check every quarter.
You're busy, not effective.
Most stalled companies aren't short on effort. They're short on architecture. Every channel runs on its own, every team is measured on its own number, and nobody owns the whole customer journey.
Chasing the next silver bullet won't fix that. A system will.
Marketing
Chases lead volume to hit its number, even when the leads are poor.
Sales
Stops trusting marketing's leads and works its own list.
Service
Cleans up promises the product can't keep, then watches customers leave.
Three legs. Take one away and it falls.
A surveyor's tripod stands steady on any ground because it has three points of contact. Your growth works the same way.
Unifying Customer Truth
Who you really serve and what they value. Jobs-to-be-done interviews, journey maps and a value proposition backed by evidence.
Integrated Operational Engine
How your people, process and technology deliver that value. Shared metrics, one CRM as the source of truth, clear hand-offs.
Iterative Growth Loop
How you get better every cycle. Every campaign is an experiment: observe, orient, decide, act, repeat.
Each leg holds up the other two.
No customer truth?
Your engine builds the wrong thing, and your experiments test the wrong audience.
No operational engine?
Insights never become a consistent experience, and results get lost in disconnected data.
No growth loop?
Your customer picture and your systems go stale while the market moves.
Play it like the triangle offense.
Blitzscaling treats growth like a war. We treat it like a game: the most efficient, best-spaced team wins, and it plays again next season.
The triangle offense, drawn up by Sam Barry and made famous by the Bulls and Lakers, wins with spacing and reads, not one superstar. We map your departments to positions so everyone knows their spot, who they pass to, and when to shoot.
- Point GuardGrowth. Floor general: sets the pace and calls the play.
- Shooting GuardProduct and design. Shoots or passes, creates the opening.
- CenterTechnology and innovation. Owns the paint, scores the easy buckets.
- Power ForwardSales and partnerships. Works inside, finishes the play.
- Small ForwardContent and marketing. Moves anywhere, keeps the ball moving.
- Off the ballPeople team. Sets screens, keeps spacing, makes everyone better.
- BenchSpecialists and contractors, ready when the game calls for them.
- Coaching staffBoard and advisors. Draw up the season, not every possession.
Grade the tripod every quarter.
Weekly growth sprints run the loop. A quarterly review checks that all three legs are still level, and decides who runs the next play.
- Grade each legScore customer truth, operational engine and growth loop against the annual goals.
- Find the short legSpot the one that's tipping the structure.
- Hand off the ballChoose which position leads the next quarter, and for how long.
- Decide togetherUse a quorum and clear decision rules so the whole team owns the plan.

Built inside a real operation.
Terence Latimer first drew up the Tripod as Food Tribe's 2021 operating strategy, while running content, data and the #RestaurantBailout campaign through COVID-19. He wanted Food Tribe to grow without blitzscaling's war footing, and to grow inside Doughnut Economics' limits instead of past them. The HubSpot Flywheel, Lean Six Sigma and the triangle offense became a system a lean team could run every quarter. Latimer Digital has used and refined it since.
Questions
What is the Tripod Method?
A framework for integrated growth. It rests on three interdependent legs: a unifying customer truth (who you serve and what they value), an integrated operational engine (how your people, process and technology deliver it), and an iterative growth loop (how you test, learn and improve). If one leg is weak, the whole structure tips over.
What methods is it built on?
Lean for the customer truth, the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and RevOps for the operational engine, and Agile with the OODA loop for the growth loop. The team model comes from the triangle offense in basketball.
Who is it for?
Founders and leadership teams, usually 5 to 100 people, who are busy across many channels but not growing predictably, and whose marketing, sales and service teams are not working from the same plan.
Where did the Tripod Method come from?
Terence Latimer first built it as Food Tribe's 2021 operating strategy, as an alternative to blitzscaling, and has since developed it into the framework Latimer Digital uses with clients.
